When you sign in, we collect the information provided by your authentication method (email address, display name, and profile photo) via Firebase Authentication (Google Cloud). When you use BuildBids, we store the following data in Cloud Firestore:

• Saved bids — bids you bookmark or track for later
• Search preferences — your saved filters (trades, states, bid sizes)
• Email for alerts — your email address for bid deadline alerts and daily digests
• Bid tracker data — application status, notes, and deadlines you set

2. Bid Data Sources

Bid listings displayed on BuildBids are aggregated from publicly available government procurement portals. AI-generated summaries are derived from these public documents. We do not collect or store proprietary bid response data — only the public solicitation information.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to:

• Authenticate your account and secure your dashboard
• Save your bid bookmarks and search preferences across sessions
• Send bid deadline alerts and daily digest emails (if enabled)
• Personalize bid recommendations based on your trade and location filters

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

• Firebase Authentication — account sign-in and session management (Google Cloud)
• Cloud Firestore — saved bids, search preferences, and tracker data (Google Cloud)
• Netlify — website hosting and CDN

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage for authentication state (Firebase Auth tokens). We do not use tracking cookies or analytics cookies.

6. Data Retention

Your saved bids, preferences, and tracker data are retained as long as your account exists. You can delete individual saved bids and clear preferences at any time through the dashboard. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, contact us at buildpdf.help@gmail.com.

7. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication is managed by Firebase Auth with industry-standard security practices. Firestore security rules ensure users can only access their own saved data.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of BuildBids after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
