About BuildBids
Government contracts are supposed to be open to everyone. In practice, they're buried in 40-page PDFs on five different procurement portals, written in language designed for people with a full-time bid coordinator on staff. If you're a small contractor โ an electrician, a plumber, a janitorial company with 12 employees โ you're competing blind against firms that have entire departments dedicated to finding and responding to these things.
BuildBids exists to fix that. We aggregate government bid opportunities from state and local agencies, then use AI to turn dense procurement documents into plain-English summaries. What's the scope? What are the actual requirements? When's the deadline? What licenses do you need? You get the answers in 30 seconds instead of 30 minutes of reading legalese.
How it works: We pull bid postings from procurement portals across 12 states. Our AI reads the full solicitation documents and generates a summary โ scope, key dates, estimated budget range, required certifications, and any small-business preferences. You filter by trade, state, and bid size to find opportunities that actually match your business. When you find one worth pursuing, you can track it, set deadline reminders, and access the original documents.
The free tier gives you access to browse every bid we track, with 3 AI summaries per day. That's enough to check what's out there. The paid tiers unlock unlimited summaries, email digests, saved searches, and original bid PDFs โ the tools you need when you're actively pursuing contracts.
Important: Our AI summaries are generated from public procurement documents and may contain errors or omissions. Always verify details against the original solicitation before submitting a bid. BuildBids is an information tool โ not legal or bidding advice.
BuildBids is part of the Build ecosystem of tools for contractors and independents: BuildInvoice, BuildChangeOrder, BuildQuotes, BuildTimesheet, BuildStatus, BuildPDF, and BuildCertificates.
